Davit via WeddingWireSantorini honeymoon photoshoot: the first portraits of married life
You did the aisle, the speeches and the seating plan. This evening has none of that — golden-hour photographs, a private table, and nowhere you have to be.
A Santorini honeymoon photoshoot is a relaxed couple's session for newlyweds, shot in the hour before sunset, and it pairs naturally with a private dinner above the caldera. Our island team plans the evening end to end — location, timing, table and photographer — and quotes each one individually.
What is a honeymoon photoshoot like?
A honeymoon photoshoot is posed but unhurried — the two of you walking between two or three viewpoints while the light turns gold, with no choreography beyond where to stand. You are already married; the photographs only have to look like it. Silhouettes against the sun, the white lanes at dusk, and the blue-hour frames afterwards, when the sky goes violet and the caldera lights come on.
It is shot by the same island photographers who cover every Santorini proposal — people who work this rim weekly and know which ledge faces the sun in your month. The difference is pace: no secret to protect, no single take that has to land, just an evening.

How do you plan a honeymoon shoot around the island?
The island decides more of the plan than you might expect: the hour sets the light, the wind picks the coast, and the month sets both.
Blue hour
The twenty minutes after sunset give the moodiest frames of the set — stay for them.
Morning option
The blue domes face south: an early start beats both the harsh light and the crowds.
Wind
When the meltemi blows hard in July and August, the sheltered south coast keeps a session calm.
Transfers
We move you between the viewpoints and the table — transport is part of the plan, not your problem.
At sea
A private catamaran puts the caldera cliffs behind you instead of beneath you.
Booking
Summer evenings go first — fix the date when you book the honeymoon itself.
What does the private honeymoon dinner include?
The dinner is a private table for two — styled, candle-lit and facing the water — set up while you finish the last frames of the session. Champagne is on the table when you sit down, the flowers match the setting rather than a catalogue, and nobody is seated beside you. The terraces are the ones that host our private dinner proposals, so the staging is a practised routine rather than an experiment.
The photographer takes a final set as the candles start doing the work, then leaves you to the evening. What lands on the table is agreed with you beforehand — menus, dietary notes and the wine all settled in planning, never improvised on the night.

Can the honeymoon shoot happen on the water?
It can — a private catamaran turns the session into a half-day at sea, with the red and white cliffs shot from the waterline instead of the rim. Lunch is served aboard, the swim stops are yours to take or skip, and the frames you get are the ones no terrace gives: the island rising behind you, and nothing else in the picture.
The boat is the one our yacht proposals sail on — crewed and catered — and it is quoted individually alongside the rest of your evening. If you only want the classic golden-hour session on land, that stands perfectly well on its own.

What couples say
“They were super responsive and helpful, and gave me multiple options that made me feel in control of this amazing event. Everyone on the day was so nice and put together a day we will never forget. I cannot recommend them enough!”
Mitch via WeddingWireSantorini honeymoon photoshoot FAQ
Any evening works, but an early one leaves room to reschedule around wind or cloud — the one flexibility a last-night booking gives up. We watch the forecast with you and move the hour if the light asks for it.
An edited gallery in high resolution, yours to print and post as you like. How long we shoot, how many images you receive and when they arrive are all fixed with you during planning — never left vague.
No — wear whatever feels like you. If the wedding dress made it into the luggage, this is its encore; linen and bare feet photograph just as honestly. A layer the wind can catch will do half the styling for you.
Private. The table is set for the two of you alone on a terrace, not in a dining room — the same format as our private dinner proposals, without the hidden photographer.
Not quite — this evening is designed for after the wedding. If you are newly engaged, the engagement photoshoot is the same unhurried format for the trip where the question was asked; and if the question has not been asked yet, start with our proposal ideas.
